Another reason to consider that modulating the activity of cerebellar targets may be useful in the treatment of movement disorders is the finding of recent anatomical studies in primates which showed that there are strong bidirectional subcortical connections between subnuclei of the basal ganglia and the cerebellum which could have significant pathophysiological relevance for movement disorders [36, 53, 54]
